Privacy Policy
Effective 9 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Inqlo ("Inqlo," "we," "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. Inqlo is an individually-operated, early-stage service operated by Agamjot Singh, based in New South Wales, Australia. If Inqlo transitions to a registered business entity, this policy will be updated accordingly.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at info@inqlo.app.
What We Collect
Account information. To use Inqlo, you create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with Google. If you use Google sign-in, Google shares your email address and basic profile details with us; we never receive your Google password.
Pro waitlist. If you ask to be notified when Pro launches, we store the email address you give us and the feature you were looking at, and use them only to tell you when Pro is available.
Plan, usage and billing. We record your plan (free or Pro), how many of your free lectures you've used, and which study materials have been generated for each lecture, so we can apply the free plan's limits. If you subscribe to Pro, we also store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the subscription's status, and its renewal or end date. Your card details go to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
Content you upload and content we generate. This includes slide decks and PDFs you upload ("lecture materials"), the notes, summaries, glossaries, flashcards, quizzes, and other study materials Inqlo generates from them, and any messages you send in the per-lecture chat panel or Solver feature.
Subject and organisation data. Subjects you create to organise your lectures, and how you've tagged or grouped your content.
Usage data. General information about how you use the app — pages visited, features used, and similar activity — to help us maintain and improve the service. This is measured with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites.
How Your Information Is Stored
Inqlo stores your account information, uploaded lecture materials, generated notes and study content in a cloud database and storage system (via Supabase), with servers located in Singapore. Uploaded files (slide images and PDFs) are stored in private storage buckets — they are not publicly accessible, and access is granted only via short-lived signed links generated when you (the account owner) view your own content.
How Your Information Is Used
- To generate your notes and study materials. Your uploaded lecture materials are sent to Google's Gemini models, accessed through Google Cloud's Vertex AI, to be transcribed and transformed into structured notes, and to related features (glossary generation, subject classification, and the per-lecture chat panel).
- To power Solver, our problem-solving tool. The questions you type and any images you attach are also sent to Google's Gemini models through Vertex AI.
- To power Exam Dump, a feature that generates a comprehensive study pack from multiple uploaded documents, which uses a different AI provider — see the note on OpenRouter below.
- To manage your account, including authentication and account-related communication (e.g. email confirmation, password resets).
- To respond to your inquiries when you contact us.
- To maintain and improve the security, reliability, and quality of the service.
Important — How AI Providers Handle Your Content
Inqlo is in an early stage and currently uses free-tier AI services to keep the product free. This matters for how your content is handled:
Google Gemini models via Vertex AI (notes, study tools, chat, Solver). Inqlo sends your lecture materials, chat messages and Solver questions (including any images you attach) to Google's Gemini models through Google Cloud's Vertex AI, using Inqlo's own Google Cloud project. This content is processed in Google Cloud data centres in the United States. Under Google Cloud's terms for Vertex AI, Google does not use content submitted this way to train its models without permission. Even so, please don't upload materials containing sensitive personal information (for example, health information or other people's personal details).
Exam Dump. This feature currently uses OpenRouter to access a free-tier model (Gemma 4 31B). Free-tier model access through OpenRouter may be subject to the underlying model provider's own data-use terms, which can include the use of submitted content for model improvement. The same advice applies: avoid uploading highly sensitive material. We will update this policy if that changes.
Your Lecture Materials and Copyright
Lecture slides and materials you upload may be created by your professors or institution. You retain any rights you have in the notes and study materials Inqlo generates for you, and we don't claim ownership over them. However, you are responsible for ensuring you're permitted to upload the materials you submit — see our Terms of Service for more on this.
We use your uploaded materials only to generate your personal study content. We do not share your uploaded lecture materials or generated notes with other users, and we do not use them for purposes beyond providing you the service (aside from the AI-processing described above).
Third Parties We Share Information With
We share information only as needed to operate Inqlo, with the following service providers:
- Google Cloud (Vertex AI, Gemini models) — processes lecture materials to generate transcriptions, notes, and related content, and processes chat and Solver requests including any images you attach. Content is processed securely in Google Cloud data centres located in the United States.
- OpenRouter — routes Exam Dump requests to a third-party AI model, as described above.
- Google (sign-in) — if you choose "Continue with Google", Google authenticates you and shares your email address and basic profile details with us.
- Supabase — stores your account, uploaded materials, and generated content. Servers are located in Singapore.
- Vercel — hosts the application. Primary infrastructure is located in the United States.
- Google Fonts — the site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers and Google can see your IP address. Infrastructure is located in the United States.
- Vercel Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless usage statistics for the app. Infrastructure is located in the United States.
- Resend — sends account-related emails (confirmation, password reset). Infrastructure is located in the United States.
- Stripe — takes payment for Pro. Stripe receives your email address and payment details and handles them under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Stripe keeps records of past payments for as long as the law requires.
Payments. Pro is paid for through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor that receives your payment details directly. We never receive or store your full card number. Deleting your account cancels any Pro subscription straight away; Stripe may keep records of past payments as the law requires.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not disclose it to any party beyond what's described above, except where required by law or in connection with a business transfer (see below).
International Data Transfers
Because our service providers operate in Singapore and the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in these countries regardless of where you are located. Where required (for example, for users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we rely on our service providers' Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection law.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Inqlo uses essential cookies/local storage required to keep you signed in and to operate the app securely. We do not currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If we add analytics or similar tools in the future, we will disclose the provider here.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your uploaded materials, generated notes, and related content are deleted from our systems. Some information may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
Deleting your account. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us at info@inqlo.app.
Accessing your data. You can contact us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Other rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law — including the right to access, correct, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and (for EEA, UK, and Swiss residents) the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@inqlo.app.
Children
Inqlo is not intended for use by anyone under 14 years of age. Users aged 14 to 17 should have the awareness or consent of a parent or guardian where required by the law of their jurisdiction. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 14, we will delete it. If you believe this has occurred, contact us at info@inqlo.app.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls that ensure only you can access your own lecture materials and generated content. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Inqlo develops — for example, if we add new features, change service providers, or introduce payments. We will update the effective date above when we do, and note material changes prominently on the site.
Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
